Egyptian Man In Dakhla, many men wore the straw hats that are a speciality of the region, but elsewhere they usually wore some sort of turban or scarf like this. After a few days in the desert, Tamer gave us our own headscarves, and our drivers (to considerable amusement) showed us how to wear them Lawrence-of-Arabia style. Photo courtesy of Lynne Murdoch |

Tomb Scene This scene of deities is from the tomb of Si-Amun, a wealthy Greek who had married an Egyptian and converted to the Egyptian religion. He lived in Siwa and was buried on the Mountain of the Dead. Photo courtesy of Tamer |
